These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Pawnect mobile application ("Pawnect", "the App", "we", "our"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

Pawnect is published by Angelina Mikhaylovna Davydyan, an individual developer based in Vancouver, Washington, United States. You can reach us at pawlypets2026@gmail.com.

1. Eligibility

Pawnect is for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use the App. If you are not, please do not use Pawnect.

2. The Service

Pawnect provides tools to track your pet's daily wellbeing (diary entries, weight, grooming, activity), personalized care content, and an AI-powered chat assistant for general pet-care questions.

Some care content is included in a Premium subscription, including guides written for particular breeds. Paying for Premium buys access to information written by us. It does not buy a consultation, an opinion about your individual animal, or any form of veterinary service.

3. Subscriptions & Billing

• Pawnect offers optional auto-renewing subscription plans (e.g., monthly and annual) purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and managed by RevenueCat on our behalf.
• Prices are shown at the time of purchase in the store checkout flow and are charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account.
• New subscribers are offered a 3-day free trial. Unless you cancel before it ends, the trial converts automatically into a paid subscription at the price shown at checkout. The exact terms and end date are shown before you confirm the purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew for the same period and price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can cancel anytime through your device's subscription settings (App Store > Subscriptions, or Google Play > Subscriptions). Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not refund the current period.
• Refunds are handled solely by Apple or Google according to their respective refund policies — we do not process refunds directly.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
• Attempt to circumvent usage limits, security measures, or subscription checks
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or scrape the App or its backend services
• Submit content through the AI chat or diary that is abusive, harmful, or that you don't have the right to share
• Use the AI assistant as a substitute for professional veterinary, medical, or emergency services

Messages you send to the assistant are screened automatically, and a message that trips that screen is refused before it reaches the model. Repeatedly attempting to produce harmful content is a breach of these Terms and may cost you access to the App.

Replies are generated by a language model and can be wrong. If a reply is harmful, inaccurate, or offensive, report it from the message itself — the flag icon beside it. We keep reported replies so that a person can review them, and we act on what we find.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of the pet profile data, diary entries, and photos you submit ("User Content"). You grant us a limited license to store and process User Content solely to provide and improve the App's features. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload any photo or content you submit.

6. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, branding, and underlying software, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited license to use the App as intended, no rights are granted to you.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT AI-GENERATED CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR SUITABLE FOR YOUR PET'S SPECIFIC NEEDS.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PAWNECT AND ITS AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING RELIANCE ON AI-GENERATED CONTENT, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time — see our Delete Account page.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute that is not resolved informally shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Clark County, Washington, and you and we consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another place whose law gives you rights that cannot be waived by agreement, nothing here takes those rights away: you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
